About Us

Hi! We’re Paige, Marc and Sheridan. We’ve been friends for over 10 years, based largely on our shared interest in music, media, and all things pop culture. We first had the idea for what has become BoomRoom in 2018, when live streaming was really starting to catch on. Paige was talking to a musician friend who was working two jobs and playing music (damn good music!) on the side. He was struggling to afford an engagement ring for his girlfriend, in spite of his constant hustle. Life got busy for a couple of years for all of us, and then life stopped in 2020 for the entire world. The need for a streaming platform for artists to monetize their performances within an app and web experience was amplified (pun intended).

As Covid turned everyone's lives upside down, artists flocked to existing streaming solutions, but none of them offered an artist-focused and concert-like experience. Side note: we’re HUGE live music fans. We appreciate that streaming will never replace that glorious energy when humans gather in a tight space, with the smell of stale beer in the air, and the feeling of their shoes sticking to heck knows what on the floor. We tasked ourselves with creating a streaming service that offers a music-focused, fun solution that promotes tipping, subscribing to, and supporting artists in a user-friendly way and with no up-front costs to artists.

We can’t overstate that this is a passion project for us, and we are more focused on supporting artists and exposing the world to their work than anything. As we like to say “nobody’s quitting their day job around here.” In the long term, it’s important to us that this project continues to focus on what benefits performers. That’s at the core of our mission and why we welcome any and all feedback on our roadmap. We’re also committed to enhancing the fan experience by continuing to build fun, interactive features. We sure don’t want to invest in future functionality that doesn’t enrich the experience in meaningful ways for artists and fans.
